Dating back to 1967, Chye Lye Curry Fish Head Restaurant 再来咖喱鱼头餐室 had its humble beginnings in the heartlands of Sembawang. Facing harsh operational conditions, the second-generation Wong family were faced with the heavy decision to close down in March 2019 after more than 50 years of thriving business. However, you can now enjoy the opportunity to relive some of their most beloved and signature dishes such as curry fish head and chilli crab. Chye Lye is the true epitome of legacy to our people, preserving the taste of home familiar in all of our hearts.
Signature Curry Fish Head with Tau Pok, Eggplant and Lady Finger
Their signature dish, fresh and tender fish head cooked in an assam-style curry, specially added with refreshing taupok, eggplants and lady fingers, serving as perfect complements to the rich and savoury coconut milk in the curry.
Pan Fried Homemade Tofu with Crispy Preserved Radish
Deep fried to a golden brown, the crispy Cai Por (preserved radish) contrasts the soft and silky texture of their homemade tofu, exhibiting the best of both worlds in taste and texture.
Savoury Steamed Silken Egg Custard
Using only common ingredients like eggs, water, salt and sesame oil, this dish is the embodiment of indulgence wrapped in simplicity.
Stir-Fried Tiger Prawn
Fresh tiger prawns are used in this dish, complemented by a flavourful stir-fried gravy, bringing out the natural juiciness and sweetness of the prawns.
Crispy Har Cheong Chicken with Sambal Sweet Potato Leaves
The dark golden deep fried Har Cheong (Prawn sauce) chicken is served with stir-fried green sweet potato leaves and red spicy sambal, colourful and appetising to the sight and palate.
Singapore Style Chilli Crab
A famous local dish, the meaty crab is stir-fried with a sweet, savoury and slightly spicy tomato-based gravy. Using mallets to break open the crab shells and eaten with the hands, this dish will definitely bring back the familiarity of our local eateries.
Dishes are served with Fragrant Rice.
Osmanthus Jelly with Goji Berries
A homemade jelly, added with goji berries and sweet Osmanthus brings a healthy and refreshing close to this scrumptious feast.
