With a Peranakan heritage, Gary taught himself how to cook various Peranakan dishes with over 200 cookbooks and a discerning Peranakan aunt who is still around to taste his creations. As a perfectionist, he enjoys cooking for his family as he gets to experiment with the same dish multiple times to get the perfect recipe.
